There are certain ways to determine whether or not you have found the wedding officiate fit for your ceremony:
1. Consider the officiant’s level of understanding the ceremony.
In many ways, the wedding officiant must know how to educate the marrying couple about the importance of marriage. There are seminars or small group talks that the wedding officiant can take the couple through and sometimes, these determine just how devoted the presiding religious head is to teaching the couple.
2. Be mindful of the officiant’s general personality.
Most couples look up to their wedding officiants in terms of keeping a marriage. Many wedding officiants nowadays are married men or women themselves and thus may speak freely and in a more experienced way about the ceremony. But this is where a great deal of difference lies: in the ability of the officiant to share part of his or her self to the marrying couple. A lot of wedding officiants are accommodating enough that they consider the marrying couple already a part of their circle of friends. They are good in giving advices and looking after the couple every now and then. A good wedding officiant must not only know how to maintain a professional relationship but also a cozy friendship with the couple.
3. Take into account other people’s thoughts on the officiant.
This does not seem a likely standard but just the same, you must seek out what other people think of your wedding officiant. Positive feedbacks only strengthen your confidence in your officiant and thus help you more in ensuring a binding ceremony. |
