The name Babylon Productions Wedding Centre stems from the history of the great city-state known as Babylon which was located in ancient Mesopotamia. With the city being one of the historic cities in the history of civilization the remains of Babylon can be found in Al Hillah, the prsent day Babylon located in Babil Province, Iraq, which is about 85 km south of Baghdad. The remains of the Babylon is simply a mountain of broken mud-brick buildings and debris in the beautiful and historic Mesopotamian area which is located between the Tigris and Euphrates rivers, in Iraq. Although the area has been reconstructed, historical reference points indicates that Babylon was initially a small town, that took off right from the beginning of 3000 BC. The town of Babylon prospered and attained significance both politically, and as a society with the city being dubbed the "holy city" of Babylonia by approximately 2300 BC. The Hanging Gardens of Babylon was considered back in the day one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World.
The word Babylon is derived from the Greek word of Akkadian Babilu meaning "Gateway of the gods". The earliest recollection of Babylon is a dated source of the domination of the Sargon of Akkad.
